Permaculture is the tool kit we need to begin building a permanent culture. In this permaculture course we will lay the foundation for understanding natural systems. We will learn to design and develop properties in a sustainable manner, while revitalizing local communities, and restoring ecological balance. We invite you to join us and help plant the seeds of sustainability.
[...] is an amazing permaculture class scheduled for August in Homer, AK, but I just can’t make it there for two weeks. I want to learn more about permaculture [...]
I’d love to attend, but can’t get away for that time frame as we are commercial salmon fishermen. Will you be offering any other blocks? I noticed another potential guest commented on the length as well; perhaps separating into smaller segments might make it easier for people to get the time away. Would love to know if you are able to break it down a bit, &/or might be offering something in the fall, when life is not quite so busy. Thanks! And may your efforts be rewarded!!
Ginger, the problem is that we don’t have enough Alaskan teachers yet. We can’t fly someone in for a 10 month course. That would be WAY too expensive. We’ll see.
I took the permaculture design course in Tucson, Arizona, where I did humanure composting, rainwater harvesting, mesquite bean harvesting and processing into mesquite flour, dryland gardening. Now homesteading near Homer, I do Alaskan permaculture. I seek community with other permaculturists. I can teach workshops year round.
Lindianne, there is a HUGE permaculture community in Homer. We’re teaching the PDC in Homer starting on Saturday. We are at Ageya Wilderness Center. Send us your phone number and maybe we could connect while we are there for the next 2 weeks.

The hardest part about living permaculturally is trying to be true to the principles: http://prezi.com/xziwqhslu446/permaculture-principles/
